Kaj Munk took part in public debate and made no secret of his opinions. The poet-priest could criticize democracy, poke fun at the National Church and write provocative sermons. In his chronicles and letters to the editor, he advocated the one strong leader. He was particularly fascinated by Italy's fascist leader Benito Mussolini.
