The autonomous institution
Kaj Munks Præstegård officially opened as a museum in 2011 and is owned by the Danish state.
"The self-governing institution Kaj Munks Præstegård in Vedersø" is responsible for the operation of the vicarage and has entered into an operating agreement with Ringkøbing Fjord Museer for the daily dissemination.
From Vedersø Præstegård to Kaj Munks Præstegård
- 2005: The Ministry of Church Affairs transfers the deed and thus the entire vicarage to the "Vedersø Præstegård Foundation". The foundation begins a comprehensive renovation of the vicarage
- 2010: "Fonden Vedersø Gl. Præstegård" enters into an operating agreement with Ringkøbing Fjord Museums. The foundation transfers the deed to the Ministry of Culture, which appoints a board of directors for "The self-governing institution Kaj Munks Præstegård in Vedersø".
- 2011: Official opening of Kaj Munks Præstegård.
- 2013: The last of the four wings at Kaj Munks Præstegård has been fully restored, and the vicarage now stands as it did in 1944. Realdania has contributed to the restoration, which was the responsibility of the Danish Agency for Culture and which cost approximately DKK 8 million.
