The Friends' Circle invites you to a Liberation Day celebration on May 4

Lecture by former parish priest, author, and speaker Ole Juul:
“The Power of the Powerless” – on Kaj Munk and Martin A. Hansen.

In his lecture on these two prominent authors and public figures, Ole Juul will explore how, during the occupation, they acted as “warriors without weapons” (Morten Nielsen) and yet fought—both with the sword of the spirit and the word, or the “bloody pen, ” as Martin A. Hansen called it.

Both were driven in their commitment by the fundamental Christian narrative, which is expressed in literature through two notable works on the mystery of the Resurrection: Kaj Munk’s *The Word* and Martin A. Hansen’s *The Harvest Festival*. Here, Ole Juul points to the power over the mind that lies in the faith of the powerless child in Kaj Munk’s poignant play and the solidarity of the powerless priest in Martin A. Hansen’s groundbreaking short story.

Coffee, tea, and bread will be served.

Musical performances featuring songs by Kaj Munk set to well-known melodies, performed by Olav Rex Christensen and Inger Kold, as well as sing-alongs.

The evening concludes with a torchlight procession and a short speech.

The participation fee is 125 DKK for members of the Friends’ Circle and 150 DKK for non-members.
