Danish Mill Day 2026
June 21, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Bundsbæk Mølle Danish Mill Day on June 21!
Water mills, windmills, stamp mills, post mills, treadmills… Not all mills are created equal, and on Sunday, June 21, you can explore several different types and learn all about the fascinating, 1,000-year history of mills. Ringkøbing Fjord Museums is marking the day at Bundsbæk Mølle, where our volunteer millers are ready to show off the mill.
Bundsbæk Mølle
Bundsbæk Mølle West Jutland’s oldest working watermill, and on Mill Day, the museum’s volunteer millers will be ready to share the mill’s history while the watermill creaks away, grinding flour. Of course, you’re also welcome to sit down in the cozy mill rooms and enjoy a cup of coffee. Be sure to take a walk past the mill pond and on into the beautiful Bundsbæk Nature Park.
Danish Mill Day
Danish Mill Day is a national holiday during which many of the country’s water and windmills are open to the public. Denmark isn’t the only country that celebrates Mill Day; several other European countries also observe Mill Day during this time. The Danish Mill Association is the organization behind this national day.
