The Christmas tree
Winter can make us long for the great outdoors - especially when it's cold and dark and winter storms are raging. But at Christmas, we bring nature right into our living rooms, and we've been doing it since the early 1800s.
The first Christmas tree was dragged into the fine living rooms of the Holsteinborg estate on Zealand, and not only that, but candles were put on it and lit! A few years later, the German Christmas tree tradition had made its way to Denmark.
In Naturkraft you can travel through the history of the Christmas tree and see how the types of wood change and how Christmas decorations have evolved over time.
Travel to the present day, where we're creating new traditions with potted or plastic Christmas trees, and if you want, you can make brand new Christmas decorations from old Christmas decorations and recycled materials.
The activity takes place on all opening days at 14:30-15:45 and is included in the day ticket.

A day ticket costs DKK 130 for adults and DKK 95 for children aged 3-17. Children under the age of 3 are admitted free of charge.
