Triton.
The sloop from Kristianssand is on its way to Ribe. It is mid-summer 1858. The ship is fully loaded with wood. The small crew consisting of the captain, a sailor and two boys hear the wind blowing. Now a violent storm begins. The four sailors are no match for the storm's wild waves, which push the ship over on its side. The ship capsizes with its bottom in the air. The large wooden cargo causes the ship to float. On July 27, the ship runs aground off Bjerregård.
The mountain guild sits down to keep watch by the ship. In the evening, when it has become completely quiet, the guard Otto hears some noises from the ship. As soon as he gets closer, he can hear work being done behind the ship's bottom. Otto tries to answer the sounds of the castaways, but at the same moment the sounds stop abruptly.
He announces his discovery and they all set about breaking a hole in the ship. Two dazed boys come into view. They are pressed up against the bottom of the ship. When the two frightened boys discover the salvage guild, they breathe a sigh of relief. They can't tell how long they've been trapped under the bottom of the ship. The salvage team searches the wreck and finds the captain and first mate drowned.
