Come to the haymaking at Bundsbæk Mølle

In the meadow behind Bundsbæk Mølle have the chance to experience one of the important farming methods of the past when the museum’s volunteers from the haymaking group get to work with their scythes. Come see how the grass was harvested in the old days, and learn how it was turned into the essential hay that ensured the animals’ survival through the winter.

As a guest, you’ll also have the chance to try your hand at harvesting with a scythe under the guidance of experienced volunteers. There are also children’s scythes for the youngest visitors, so the whole family can try this traditional craft.

In addition to the work in the meadow itself, there will be plenty of opportunities to chat with the volunteers, who are happy to share their knowledge. You can also learn more about joining the haymaking group and sign up as a volunteer if you’re interested.
