Occupation city walk in Hvide Sande
April 9 at 18:30 - April 9 at 20:00
Please note that this city walk is held with a Danish-speaking guide.
On April 9, 1940, the people of West Jutland woke up to a new reality - Denmark was occupied! At around 4am that morning, German troops had launched a surprise attack, and a few hours later Denmark surrendered.
Although everyday life continued, much had changed: German troops on the streets, rationing, air raids and blackouts.
April 9 this year marks 85 years since Denmark was occupied. Ringkøbing Fjord Museer is marking the occasion with an occupation walk in Hvide Sande. As darkness falls, one of the museum's skilled guides will take you around the town and tell the story of the occupation where it took place. We'll stop at the lock and the bunkers at Troldbjerg.
Meeting point: The city walk starts at Fiskeriets Hus at 18:30 and ends at the same place at 20:00.
Price: Adults: 99 kr. Children and young people (3-17 years): 49 kr. Ticket must be purchased online.
