Build with nature
Can you build something that can withstand the westerly winds?
When building houses, wind turbines and other structures, the forces of nature have always had to be kept in mind when building here in West Jutland, because if what you built could not withstand the westerly winds or possible flooding, you would not last long on the west coast.
Every day, you and your family can try your hand at using nature's resources to build something yourself that can withstand the forces of nature!
Over the last several thousand years, West Jutland has been shaped by the forces of nature, especially wind and water. Our region is often exposed to the various forces of nature, such as floods and storms, which has had a major impact on the lives and livelihoods of the people living in the area.
The westerly wind is also an (almost) constant player in West Jutland, and you can just look at the trees in West Jutland, almost all of which are bent to the east. The wind can also cause significant damage, especially on the coast, where it can erode sand dunes and cause flooding, but it has also played an important role in our cultural heritage, with windmills being a common feature of the landscape for many centuries. These were used to grind grain, pump water and generate energy, and they remain an important part of our history and identity.
