Make a leather wallet
In the Viking Age, there was a barter economy - for example, trading a cow for a slave. But during the Viking Age, silver coins were also used. The coins did not have a value printed on them as we know it today, but instead the weight of the silver was used as a measure. This is why we also have many cut coins from the Viking Age, as they were cut into pieces to get the right amount of silver for payment.
With coins came the need to have somewhere to store them safely - and you did this in a small leather wallet that you could hang on your belt.
At Bork Vikingehavn you can make your own leather wallet to take home with you. It can be used for much more than silver coins.
It costs 3 activity coins to make a leather wallet.
