• Denmark’s entire historical past, right up to the Viking Age, is a phenomenon unique to Western Jutland.

• Thyra Danebod died in childbirth in Hee.

• Gorm the Old was born at the Viking fortress of Voldr in Hee.

• It was Vikings from this area—probably from both Ringkøbing and Bork—who raided the monastery at Lindisfarne on the English east coast in 793.

• Hee Church was built by Svend Tveskæg and is Denmark’s oldest stone church.
