Bunker tour in Ringkøbing
July 2, 10:00 am - July 2, 11:30 am
Please note that this bunker tour is conducted with a German-speaking guide.
Join Ringkøbing Fjord Museer's guide around Ringkøbing and experience the history of World War II first hand. Not all traces can be seen today when walking around Ringkøbing, but on this bunker tour we will pass many of the places where traces of the Second World War are still visible.
The school that housed the occupying forces is gone, but the story lives on. You will see - and not least enter - the bunkers that were built in the town in the early 1940s. The bunkers were used when Allied planes flew over Ringkøbing, and when you stand on top of the bunkers, it's not hard to imagine what it must have been like when the planes came at night.
Meeting point: Ringkøbing Museum, Herningvej 4, 6950 Ringkøbing
Price: Adults: DKK 99. Children and young people 3-17 years: 49 kr.
It might be a good idea to bring a flashlight. Note that the bunkers can be wet, so it's a good idea to wear shoes that can withstand it.
Haven't you had enough at the end of the guided tour?
If you are interested in World War II, we also recommend a visit to Ringkøbing Museumwhere there is an exhibition about the Houvig Fortress and the bunker tours in the Houvig Fortress. Also visit Kaj Munks Præstegårdwhere Kaj Munk was picked up by the Nazis on a dark January evening in 1944.
