Fiddler music at the museum
August 4 at 14:00 - August 4 at 15:30
Traditional fiddler music fills the living rooms at Abelines Gaard when the fiddlers play at 14:00 - 15:30 with the kind of music that has certainly been played at Abelines Gaard over the years. Fiddler music has its roots in Danish agricultural culture, where fiddlers played for dancing. They were storytellers, and through music they told stories about Denmark, about sorrow and joy, about holidays and celebrations. The music played on this day is primarily from the period 1730 - 1850.
The fiddling is delivered by a group of musical playmates who are looking forward to making music for an interested audience - see you around?
The group performs in varying line-ups and consists of
Violin: Anders Løager, Helge Ramsing
Double bass: Jens Peder Knudsen
Guitar: Peter Smidt
Accordion: Jørgen Nickelsen, Niels Hykkelbjerg, Vibeke Smidt and Jan Ilsø
Free when the entrance fee is paid.
