Fiddler music at Abelines Gaard
28. september 2025 kl. 14:00 - 28. september 2025 kl. 15:30
Traditional fiddlers fill the living rooms at Abelines Gaard when the band plays at 14:00-15:30 with the kind of music that has certainly sounded at Abelines Gaard over the years.
Fiddler music has its roots in Danish agricultural culture, where fiddlers played for dancing. They were storytellers and through music they told stories about Denmark, about sorrow and joy, about holidays and celebrations. The music played on this day is primarily from the period 1730-1850.
The music is provided by a group of musical playmates who perform in varying line-ups and consist of:
Violin: Anders Løager, Helge Ramsing
Double bass: Jens Peder Knudsen
Guitar: Peter Smidt
Accordion: Jørgen Nickelsen, Niels Hykkelbjerg, Vibeke Smidt and Jan Ilsø
Free when the entrance fee is paid.
