Lecture: The sinking of the Greenlandic ship Hans Hedtoft on January 30, 1959
September 10, 2024 at 19:30 - September 10, 2024 at 21:00
Join Rasmus Dahlberg, historian and associate professor at the Royal Danish Defense College, for an exciting lecture about the state-of-the-art Greenlandic ship Hans Hedtoft, which sank while returning from its maiden voyage in January 1959.
It was a disaster of several dimensions. Everyone on board drowned, and in Denmark it triggered a political storm about responsibility for the disaster and not least about the payment of compensation to the survivors.
