15. Stick mines

German WWII stick mines. As opposed to tank mines that were designed to damage tanks, stick mines like these were anti-personnel mines, i.e. designed to injure people.

Stick mines were set up on sticks and attached to a tripwire.

Signs reading “Vorsicht Lebensgefahr” (Warning: Mortal Danger) were not a joke.
