Naturkraft

Naturkraft in June 2020 and has since become a hub for play, learning, and exploration of the nature and culture of West Jutland. Drawing on how the people of West Jutland have lived with—and battled against—the forces of nature throughout history, Naturkraft experiences for both children and adults.

Naturkraft designed as a striking earthen rampart—nearly 630 meters long and up to 13 meters high—with a 5,500 m² main building integrated into the rampart. The site spans 45 hectares of natural landscape, where architecture and landscape blend seamlessly to create a unique setting for exploration.

Certified as a Green Attraction
Naturkraft the first attraction in West Jutland to be certified as a Green Attraction. The certification is awarded to attractions that demonstrate a targeted and documented commitment to sustainability—in operations, communication, and guest experiences.

Sustainability is part of Naturkraft’s DNA, and as a museum, we have a responsibility to promote and support sustainable development in society. At Naturkraft , we Naturkraft therefore constantly Naturkraft to strengthen our commitment to climate, social, and organizational sustainability.

Part of the Museums' Green Academy

In 2024, Ringkøbing Fjord Museums signed the Danish Museums’ Charter for Green Transition. This is an important step toward a carbon-neutral future. We haven’t reached our goal yet, but we are committed to working strategically toward environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

Designated as a bee-friendly business

Naturkraft founded to showcase the West Jutland landscape and the interaction between people and nature. One of its goals has been to create a sanctuary for endangered species that are struggling to survive in the wild today. It has succeeded in this endeavor, and Naturkraft been designated a bee-friendly business by the Danish Beekeepers’ Association.

Our outdoor spaces promote biodiversity

At Naturkraft , we Naturkraft approximately 20 hectares of flower-rich grassland with nearly a hundred different species of herbs and flowers, which provide both food and habitats for bees, rare butterflies, hoverflies, beetles, and many other animals and insects.

Naturkraft registered with God Adgang

Naturkraft designed to ensure that everyone can enjoy their visit. The main building has an elevator and level access via Holmsland Klit, which serves as both a ramp and an exhibition space. The park features wide, paved paths with good accessibility, though this does not apply to the sandy and dune areas. There is accessible parking near the entrance, as well as accessible restrooms in the main building.

Environmentally conscious behavior in every aspect

At Naturkraft , we Naturkraft the environment in our daily operations. We use eco-labeled products—including paper towels and toilet paper—and in our café, we prepare all our food from scratch, focusing on reducing food waste and selecting ingredients that are locally sourced and produced with minimal environmental impact.

At Naturkraft all other museums and attractions operated by Ringkøbing Fjord Museer, you can bring a companion at no extra cost with a companion pass. Simply present the companion pass at the entrance.
