Christmas peace in the church
There's no escaping the church when it comes to holidays. Christianity came to Denmark in the Viking Age, and the church first tried to introduce the word "kristmesse" (like Christmas), but it didn't catch on, so instead they adopted the original word "jól" for their "new" holiday, which wasn't so new after all.
It helped ease the transition between religions. Take a look inside the church, light a candle and enjoy the silence.
The church is open on all opening days in November.
A day ticket costs DKK 130 for adults. Children under 18 have free admission.
