How to cook
Autumn and winter are the season of coziness and with coziness comes food. In the Longhouse, the fire roars merrily, and over it simmers the pot with the fall harvest of apples and grains - and even added meat.
The Vikings are busy preparing for 'jól' - the Viking midwinter feast and the precursor to our own Christmas - which is just around the corner. At Jól, the Vikings had a drinking feast - drank Jól - and played games. And they probably sat around the long fire and competed to see who could tell the gods' legends and sagas about great heroes and important events best.
At Bork Vikingehavn , you are invited inside the Longhouse in November for stories about the life and world of the Vikings, while you warm yourself by the long fire and enjoy the delicious aroma - and maybe a taste of the pot.
There will be cooking in the Longhouse on all opening days in November.
A day ticket costs DKK 130 for adults. Children under 18 have free admission.
