April 16, 2024 at 19:30 - April 16, 2024 at 21:30
Museum curators Caroline Larsen and Torben Egeberg, Ringkøbing Fjord Museer on: Bastards, tyrants and rascals on the heath. A lecture about the collaboration with Nikolaj Arcel and Anders Thomas Jensen on their blockbuster film "Bastarden".
In the mid-18th century, the absolute king has plans to colonize the moors. On Alheden south of Viborg, a drama unfolds in the film where the sent Captain Ludvig von Kahlen, who, together with the Germans, is to break the barren heath, comes into conflict with the local landowner of Hald Hovedgård Frederik de Schinkel. The inhabitants of the moor, the raks, are also intertwined.
The two museum curators worked as historical consultants on the film. How is historical reality processed in relation to the artistic freedom of the filmmakers?
