Although the beautiful Dutch windmill stands without its sails, local volunteers—trained in the intricacies of windmills—are ready to show visitors around and share its fascinating history.

” If you visit Skjern Vindmølle winter break, you can also enjoy a photo exhibition that spotlights a number of well-known Skjern residents from the 1980s. All the photographs were taken by the late photographer Åge Knak Nygård, who spent years capturing both local residents and life in the town. He later donated his photos to the Ringkøbing Fjord Museums.

You can see portraits of local businesspeople, politicians, artisans, and other notable figures who have all left their mark on Skjern.
